About the School of Leadership and Professional Development
On August 22, 2006, we announced the formation of the School of Leadership and Professional Development at Mountain State University under the guidance of Dr. William M. White. While we’ve long been known for our progressive programs in leadership, formerly housed in the School of Business and Technology, the formation of this new school has allowed us to sculpt a new paradigm of leadership for organizations, both private and public, throughout the world.
The worldwide need for leadership has never been greater. Trends such as globalization, environmental stressors such as pollution and the population explosion, the increasing speed and dissemination of technology, and scientific and social changes require us to seek a dynamic, situational, relational, and collaborative definition of leadership in order to positively influence organizations and communities.
Our new School of Leadership and Professional Development meets that challenge through instruction based on core leadership competencies. Our action-learning approach is structured for working adults and teaches skills that allow you to immediately apply your new experience within your current work environment.
At the School of Leadership and Professional Development at Mountain State University, our vision is to be a renowned global academic leader in the study of leadership with world class faculty and scholar-practitioner learners collaborating in the creation and application of new knowledge. We are leading the way to personal and professional success across the region, around the nation, and throughout the world…one leader at a time.
